The "Photoshop" Warning

In this industry, a PDF certificate is often just a creative project. I’ve seen hundreds of buyers get burned by fake ISO scans. In 2026, verification is your only shield.

1. ISO 13485 vs. 9001

While 9001 is common, ISO 13485 (Medical Devices) is the gold standard. It means the factory has clean-room standards for material handling. Always check the Scope of Certification; if it says "Plastic Household Goods," it won't cover you in a safety audit.

2. The CE & RoHS Trap

A CE mark without a corresponding Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is useless. Ensure the model number on the test report matches your SKU exactly.

3. 5-Minute Verification Hack

  • Check the QR Code: If it leads to a dead link, it’s fake.
  • Verify the Lab: Use the IAF website to see if the issuing lab is actually accredited.
  • Date Logic: A 2022 cert that hasn’t been renewed by 2026 is a massive warning sign.
